If you do not clean it often, the liner of your pool could end up stained. If you do not have a liner but you have a concrete floor and walls, they also need to be cleaned in order to prevent stains and other issues or concerns. Use a swimming pool vacuum to clean the pool, either one that you use manually or an automatic vacuum that will run on its own.
Use The Right Chemicals
Be sure you are using the right chemicals in your pool to be sure the water has the right chemical composition. If the water doesn't have the proper composition, it may cause some issues for those swimming in the pool. Without the right chemicals, the water may turn green, or algae may grow in the pool. Test your pool water to be sure the water has the proper pH and that the other chemicals are at the proper level. Test your pool water yourself or take a water sample to your local pool store to have the water tested for you.
Cover Your Pool
Cover your pool throughout the winter months in order to protect your pool and prevent anything from falling into it throughout the cold-weather months. Use a pool cover that is made for inground pools and is strong enough to prevent it from sinking into the pool when water gets on it. If water does get on the cover, you should be sure to pump it off with a submersible water pump.
